One of the many recorders I have been recommending over the past few years is the Tascam DR-100.  The DR-100 is a nice blend of professional features with a reasonable price point.  Tascam has been active in replacing models.  That being said, I will not be surprised if Tascam soon demotes the DR-100 replacing it with a new model.  Presently, however, it is still a very powerful recorder for a great price.

The DR-100 is a sturdy, mid-level recorder with professional functionality.  I love this recorder for its reliability (my center has about 10 of these and have not yet had one fail), ease of use, and professional quality preamps and recording.  I highly recommend this recorder.

  1. Just wanted to say that I purchased a Tascam DR-100 a few years ago based in part on your recommendation. It’s been great for oral history interviews and various other voice recordings. Thanks for starting this blog!
